Designed and developed by the JAEB Center for Health Research (Tampa, FL), the electronic visual acuity, EVA, system running the eETDRS™ protocol* has become the standard in vision testing. There is significant added value and convenience of running the M&S Smart System (peer-reviewed and published study by Southern California College of Optometry) which allows for both BCVA testing as well as trial testing using eETDRS. Furthermore, it allows the practice to utilize the standard exam room to test trial subjects without having to roll in a big, bulky, old-fashioned ETDRS cabinet. Saves time, space and unnecessary inconvenience!
In previous studies, the FDA has accepted EVA as an equivalent to the standard ETDRS charts.
